The notion of harmful sexual behaviour is one that can bring about high emotions and strong personal reactions based upon individual experiences and beliefs. In learning about harmful sexual behaviour (and when working with children and young people who have displayed or experienced these behaviours), some individuals may become aware of unwanted impacts upon themselves. Some people may find they experience strong emotional reactions resulting from their own personal experiences or because they are distressed by learning about the experiences of others.

You are not alone

It is important that you look after your health and wellbeing. If you find yourself in distress, the best way to respond is to get help as soon as possible. If you are finding the contents of the course confronting or challenging, there are resources available to support you. These can be found in the Self-Care, Relaxation and Support for Carers and Children section.
