CP PATHWAY REVIEW NOT AN ACTIVE COURSE -
This self-paced course aims to build knowledge and skills to investigate child abuse and neglect using the Signs of Safety Child Protection Framework. it also aims to promote critical thinking and documented analysis of the information to make evidence-based decisions concerning allegations of abuse against a child.
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Investigate and analyse allegations of child abuse and neglect
- Critically analyse the abuse and recommend whether to substantiate significant (actual) harm or the likelihood of harm
- investigate and recommend whether a child is in need of protection
- Investigate and recommend whether a person is responsible for actual harm continuing risk (where required)
- Understand the processes of critical incidents, carer standard of care and child safety investigations – allegations of abuse in care related to children in the CEO’s care
- Explain and apply the Department of Communities policies and practice guidance relevant to investigating and responding to child abuse and neglect
- Understand the legislative responsibilities in investigating child safety
