CP PATHWAY REVIEW NOT AN ACTIVE COURSE -
This self-paced course describes the skills and knowledge required to apply trauma sensitive practice and to develop strategies to address people’s specific trauma needs. Trauma sensitive practice involves providing services that are informed by the knowledge of the impact of trauma and the use of strategies to reduce the likelihood of re-traumatisation.
At the end of the course participants will be able to:
- Understand the continuum of trauma informed practice as it relates to child protection
- Describe the impacts of trauma on development, behaviour and parenting
- Apply principles of trauma sensitive practice in professional settings
- Use intervention strategies to support parents and caregivers of traumatised children and work collaboratively with stakeholders
- Apply trauma-informed assessment principles in developmentally appropriate and culturally responsive ways
