CP PATHWAY REVIEW NOT AN ACTIVE COURSE - 

The purpose of this self-paced course is to provide statutory child protection practitioners with an understanding of the types, indicators and impacts of abuse, neglect and cumulative harm.

At the end of course participants will be able to: 

  1. Define the types of child abuse as they apply to age, gender, disability and culture.
  2. Identify behavioural indicators of abuse.
  3. Identify child, parental and family system risk factors that increase the likelihood ofabuse.
  4. Identify system, social, cultural, economic and individual causes of abuse and neglect.
  5. Explain the dynamics of denied child abuse and neglect and implications for practice.
  6. Assess harm and cumulative harm to a child from abuse and/or neglect.
  7. Determine risk levels and impact on a child based on vulnerability factors, age,gender, disability and culture.
