CP PATHWAY REVIEW NOT AN ACTIVE COURSE - 

This self-paced course aims to provide an understanding of the legislation, principles, values and practices that underpin the Western Australian framework for child protection.

At the end of course participants will be able to: 

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of what guides child protection practice in the Department of Communities.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of the history and role of the Department of Communities and Child Protection workers in supporting Western Australian Children who are in the Child Protection system.
  3. Reflect on awareness of own beliefs, values and attitudes and biases when working with children and families.
  4. Identify and apply relevant legislation, policies and procedures in the context of undertaking child protection assessments.
  5. Demonstrate knowledge of assessment and decision making in child protection practice.
  6. Demonstrate an understanding of the Department’s complaints policy and the three-tier approach complaint process.
